Why these ceilings need a different plan
A curved, vaulted or raked ceiling does not offer the same flat space as a standard roof cavity. The available depth can change along the slope, and access may be limited once the ceiling is lined.
Measuring the profile helps show what can fit and where careful detailing is needed. It also helps identify fixtures, framing and ventilation that should remain clear.
Material choice follows the shape
The insulation must suit both the ceiling profile and the space available. A flexible material may be easier to fit around a curve, while other systems may suit a particular framing layout. There is no single product that works for every non-standard ceiling.
Ask how the installer will avoid gaps and how the finished work will be checked. Good fit matters because awkward edges are easy to overlook.
Plan around finishes and fittings
If the ceiling is already finished, access can affect the method and the amount of disruption. Share any plans for lighting, roof work or renovation before the quote is finalised.
